fordlrMaureen Ford’s greatest passion has always been teaching, working with young people and helping students to accomplish their dreams. So it is no surprise that after graduating from St. John’s University in New York with a degree in Education, Maureen focused her career in the nonprofit sector where she believed her professional efforts could make the greatest difference.

In 1987 she started the Southern California Entrepreneurship Academy, an innovative educational program for college students who aspired to start a business.  As personal advisor and mentor to hundreds of students and start-up companies in Southern California, she received the prestigious Entrepreneur of the Year Award from Ernst & Young and the Orange County business community.

Prior to building SCEA, Maureen was a high school teacher and later worked for the March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation where she developed and delivered training programs and workshops around the country to benefit the health and lives of our nation’s women and children.

Believing in the importance of giving back, Maureen has had an impressive record of volunteer work, public service and leadership roles in local city government committees and emergency response teams. She has been an active member in philanthropic organizations focused on needs for women and girls, such as the Palos Verdes Juniors Women’s Club, Sandpipers of the South Bay and organizations that assist victims of  sexual abuse and domestic violence.

Life Moments for Women is the culmination of Maureen’s passion for mentoring, a wonderful gift that truly keeps on giving. She resides in Rancho Palos Verdes with her high school sweetheart and husband, Patrick J. Ford.
